Meteorological Office, Wellington, February 26, 4 p.m. A slight low-pressure wave was crossing the Dominion to-day, and a rather intense anti-cyclone was advancing over the south Tasman Sea. ' . . The forecast is for southerly winds prevailing over the Lasman Sea and New Zealand. Fresh to strong in Cook Strait and on the East Coast. Elsewhere moderate. Seas generally smooth to moderate, but rather rough at times in Cook Strait and south of East Cape. Weather fine on the West Coast of the South Island. Elsewhere cloudy to overcast, with scattered showers or light rain in many districts, but chiefly those with an easterly aspect. Improving from the southward again soon. Cool temperatures.
