HOUSE DAMAGED BY FIRE

Palmerston North, February 26. A serious fire broke out about 7.30 this evening at a house in College Street belonging to Mr. Leyland, carrier, of Palmerston North. No one was at the home when the blaze started, and when the brigade arrived the flames were bursting from both front and back doors, so that by the time the firemen had controlled the situation and extinguished the flames the house and its contents were severely damaged. Insurance on the house was £6OO. while (lie furniture was also insured.
