To-day members of the executive ot the New Zealand Fire Brigades’ Association visited Ilawera to witness a demonstration of fire drill at the Hawera Main School. The orca-lisin” secretary (Cantniti Watts) considers it the best seen at anv school. Six hundred children inarch out clear of the school in fortv seconds.
The conference at New Plymouth on Monday will consider a remit to mnke fire drill conini’lsorv in nil schools. 1 hev approve of the suggestion bv the HnWcra headmaster that all new schools should have an exit from all classrooms on to the playground.
