The secretary of the _ Queensland branch of the Seamen’s Union says that the union has accepted ns a direct challenge the Commonwealth Government’s intention to man lighthouse steamers with ex-naval ratings. He says that the Government will find that the union has a lot of cards up its sleeve, and will not take the action lying down. He hoped that the Government would carefully consider the position before taking the action it proposed.
