OTAHUHU MEETING o ' CHIEF EVENT TO SEA ' PEARL i > BY TELEGRAPH.—PRES 3 ASSOCIATION. Auckland, February 22. ; The Otahuhu Trotting Club’s summer : meeting concluded to-day m line weather. There was a large attendance. The totalizator handled dI-10,652, compared with .£47,527 10s, for the corresponding day last year. The grand total for the meeting was .£85,324. against A. 95,678 10s. last year. The Judicial Committee met to consider a statement by Dr. F. Rayner, owner of Luvan, that J. Cockle, rider of Luyan, alleged that A. Bryce, rider of Gold Jacket, took hold of Luvan’s rein the near side, and stopped her about fifty yards from the post at the finish of the Railway Handicap on Saturday. A. Bryce emphatically denied the allegation, while the chief stipendiary steward (Hr. D. Davey) said lie did not see the incident. It was decided to take no action.
