EX-KAISER’S SISTER AND HER YOUNG HUSBAND TEMPTING FILM OFFERS FROM HOLLYWOOD (Rec. February 21, 7.31 p.m.) Berlin, February 20. The ex-Kaiser’s sister resents public interest in herself and her husband, who is known as the “prince consort.” Everywhere thev go in the capital they are surrounded by a curious crowd. They seem destined, however, never to escape, for Zoubkoff is in no way disinterested. Tempting film offers have been received from Hollywood and elsewhere which the princess rejects with royal scorn. Zoubkoff is full of ideas which are bound to result in a blaze of publicity. Not the least of these is a non-stop trans-Atlantic flight. He assured the “Morning Post’s” Berlin correspondent that his plans for it were definite He would start from the Continent. He was indignant when asked if he would turn back in the event of bad weather, stating: .“It will be a matter of either do or die.” He added that he had not broken off relations with the ex-Kaiser, and in the event of an invitation would visit Doorn. All the highest people, however, say the world is' shocked. Relatives disregard his titles. The princess desires to be known as Frau Zoubkoff. The husband says he does not care a jot what he is called.. Rumour is busy (stated a Berlin message published last month) concerning M'. Zoubkoff, the young husband of the ex-Kaiser’s sister, since he was discovered in a sanatorium at Ahrweiler. ' One newspaper alleges that he is a drug addict, and has been spending his evenings at night clubs, and that he recently had a carousal in a tavern, firing a revolver through the ceiling and pictures. For this the princess is alleged to have placed him under a specialist. The princess, however, says he is in the sanatorium recovering from his recent motor-cycling accident. “My relations with my husband are the best imaginable,” she said, “and when he is better we shall travel together”
