HON. W. BENNETT
« ENTERTAINED 13 Y COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS. The Hon. W. Bennett, M.L.A.. of Sydney, was entertained al luncheon yesterday by tho Wellington Commercial Travellers’ Association. Mr. Bennett, who is on a short holiday visit Io the Dominion, was met by Air. A. Jacobs, president of tho Wellington Commercial Travellers’ and Warehousemen’s Association; Mr. T. E. James, president of the United Commercial Travellers’ and Warehousemen’s Association of New’ Zealand; and Mr. R. E. Selby, secretary of the Wellington Commercial Travellers’ and Warehousemen's Association. On behalf of the association, they extended to Mr. Bennett n very hearty welcome. Mr. Bennett expressed Ins high appreciation of the many courtesies extended to him since his arrival in the Dominion, and said that he was especially touched by the cordial nature of his’ welcome in Wellington, in which district he was born. Tie expressed astonishment, pleasure, and also a little pride nt the wonderful progress tho Dominion had made, of the advanced nature of its legislation, of its general prosperity, and of ils wonderful possibilities in the future. IT? had enjoyed his brief visit to the Dominion very much., Mr. Bennett will leave for Auckland bv fo-night’s express, and will return fo Sydney by the Uliinarnn. which is to sail from Auckland on Friday.
