MASTER BUILDERS
RESOLUTIONS PASSED. B? Telegraph.-Pees l Association. Christchurch, February 21. At to-day’s session of the annual conference of the New Zealand Master Builders’ Federation the following resolutions were passed: “That the New Zealand Master Builders’ Federation take such action as may be practicable with a view to encouraging municipal bodies to adopt (bp principle of returning deposits of contractors with first progress payments in lieu of tho present system of holding deposits till the completion of the work tendered for.”
"That the incoming executive he instructed to approach the Government Statistician, suggesting that tlie existing schedules of information sought by him relating to tlie building industry in the Dominion are too elaborate and that modified schedules be issued in fuU “That the executive bo instructed to make representations again to tho Minister of Labour urging Hie amendment of tlie Scaffolding and Excavation Act and regulations thereunder.” "That further representations be made lo the Government urging that legislation be enacted providing for registration of builders.” "That the incoming president, vice, president, and Air. J. W. Graham be appointed to represent, the New Zealand Federated Builders’ and Contraclois’ industrial Association of Employers at a conference convened by the New Zealand Employees’ Federation relating to industrial matters.”
