LEAGUE OF NATIONS UNION

WELLINGTON BRANCH MEETING. At a meeting of the Council of the I.eague of Nations Union the president, Rev. Dr. Gibb, occupied the chair, and there was a fair attendance. The secretary reported a large number of subscriptions received since the last meeting, amongst them being two corporate members (a church and a Bible class), and other new members. The treasurer reported a cash balance of over £7O. Two new members of the council were elected to replace those who had left for other districts. Arrangements were made for the lecture to be delivered by Mr. J. V. Wilson, of the Geneva Secretariat, on February 27, and it was stated that he had consented to broadcast on the League of Nations on the evening of Tuesday, February 28. The Dominion secretary, writing from Dunedin, stated that an invitation had been sent to Aliss Maude Rovden to visit tlie Dominion. It was therefore agreed to find out what arrangements, if any, had been alrendv made,, and to. fall into line with the other societies. The London office of the union wrote detailing the steps recommended for carrying out the great disarmament campaign at Home, bijt at this distance it was not deemed possible to take much part in it, except to utilise some of the literature sent. Suggestions were made and adopted for increased propaganda work in the future.
