NEW ZEALAND TEAM FIRST MATCH IN AUSTRALIA (Rec. February 15, 10.20 p.m.) Sydney, February 15. The New Zealand bowlers played their first match since leaving New Zealand against a New South Wales team, composed of the presidents and leading members of Sydney clubs. Owing to recent rains, the green was somewhat heavier than the New Zealanders are used to, but towards the finish they picked up their game. The New Zealanders more than held their own, with, the exception of two rinks, one of which could not get going. ~ During the afternoon tea, a reception was tendered to the team by the New South Wales Bowling Association, Mr. Scott, president, extending a hearty welcome, and wishing the team every success in the coming tour. Mr. J. Hardley, leader of . the New Zealanders, responded, and issued a standing invitation to the New South IVales team to visit New He especially hoped to see a New South ■Wales team competing at the next Dominion tournament, and referred to the cordial relations which always existed between New Zealand and New South Wales bowlers.
