Mr. Justice Ostler was engaged in the Palmerston North Supreme Court this morning in hearing originating summonses under the “Family Protection. Act, 1908.” , . , The first case was ono wherein Ethel Louisa Read petitioned against the Public Trustee, asking that an order be made so that she might have a bigger allowance under the will or her father who died nine years ago. Considerable evidence was heard by His Honour, who made an order that £3OO be paid to plaintiff out of the residue of funds in the hands of the Public Trustee. “I cannot see that tho will was one of a just father,” he commented in making the order. His Honour also decreed.that the costs of the proceedings be paid out of the estate. _____
