COUNTY COUNCIL FUNDS. Bi Telegraph.—press association. Waipukurau, February 15. In the Magistrate’s Court this morning Horace Hadvers Maddaford, formerly assistant clerk in tho office of the Patangata County Council, was charged with fraudulently omitting to account for sums totalling £722 15s. 7d., thereby committing theft. Accused pleaded guilty, and was committed for trial at the Supreme Court at Napier. Bail was granted in the sum of £5OO.
