REDUCED EXPENDITURE DEPRECATED LABOUR ATTACK ON ECONOMISTS (Rec. February 14, 7.30 p.m.) London, February 13. In the House of Commons, Mr. F. W. Pethick-Lawreuce (Lab.) deprecated the reduction of-expenditure on social, services. “If the economists had their wav we should have a mean country, with mean men and’ women, living in mean houses, in mean streets. The capital of the country is not being depleted, but is being built up at the rate of five 'hundred millions a year.”— A.P.A. and “Sun.”
