COLD STORAGE

<f-.. CONSIDERATION POSTPONED The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research has decided .to postpone consideration of the whole question of cold storage until the final report of Dr. Franklin Kidd is to band. Until a policy is arrived at the assistance afforded the Cawthron Institute in connection with cold storage work is to be continued at the existing rate. The following cablegram from Dr. Kidd has been received:— “Dispatching February 1 two sixty-day thermographs. Hope these will be in time for Jonathans pears. Two further loaned thermographs follow, probably next boat. Investigations indicate desirability split consignment Coxes. Advise such without thermograph if necessary. Posting my report Prime Minister to-dav.”

The secretary (Dr. E. Marsden) reported that arrangements were in hand for the best use 'to be made of the' thermographs after arrival.
