Many people have an idea that sheep can live and thrive without water, but they will find that during a season like the’ present they are very much mistaken. Sheep can certainly go some time without water when they are getting plenty of green feed, but they very soon fall away in condition if not supplied with water in hot weather, and it is a cruel thing to expect them to do without (says the “Waikato Times’’). On everv farm where sheep are kept in the Waikato they are to be seen hanging round ' the 'creeks and watering places as keen for water almost as the COWS'.
