SOLICITOR FINED £75 TRUST ACCOUNT NOT AUDITED Reinhold Henry Wedde, a solicitor, of Waipawa, 'was charged in '.he Magistrate’s Court yesterday with having failed to have his trust account audited as required by the Law Practitioners’ Act. Mr. J. M. Tudhope, assistant Crown Solicitor, who prosecuted, said that the Act provided that every trust account must be audited by March 31 each year, and a certificate forwarded to the Solicitor-General by June 30. If the default continued up to July 31 the minimum penalty was £5O. Defendant had been written to on six occasions and had been sent a telegram by the ’department, but the certificate of audit had not yet been received. Wedde had been fined £OO for a similar offence at Napier in 1925. The Magistrate ("Mr. F„ Page, S.M.) fined defendant, who did not appear, £75 and costs.
