HAWTREY SHORT OF WATER

COUNCIL ALIVE TO POSITION. It was reported by the county clerk (Mr. W. L. Beech) at yesterday s meeting of the Makara County Council that householders living at Hawtrey’s would be short of water if tlie present dry weather continued.. Many of, them,”'he said, “are carrying water and it is questionable if we should not provide for them, at least as far as the supplv of drinking water is concerned. I think something will have to be done either by the council or the residents themselves.” Mr. Beech said that possibly arrangements could be made for the supply of 200 to 300 gallons from the Jolinsonville Town Board at intervals or bv attaching a lead to a spring m the district to which the residents could come to qollect supplies. A resolution authorising the council to take steps to supplv the locality, if necessary. was carried. -
