“GOING TO PIECES”

SUGGESTED CLOSING OF FORTS ROAD.

The chairman of the Seatoun and Bays Progressive Association has received the following letter from Mr. A. E. Ma hi n :—

"The roadway along Worsor and Karaka Bays was put in good order twelve months ago with a view, we were led to understand, of the surface being tar-sealed or bituminised properly. The onening of the Forts Road has increased the traffic many hundreds per cent., and the result is that the surface is going to pieces under the strain. It would only be an economical process for the council to close the Forts Rond until such a time as the scaling can bo proceeded with. I would suggest that the council be asked to do this forthwith.”

Tlie association, at its last meeting, lecided to act on Mr. Mabin’s suggesion.
