NELSON NOTES

Nelson, February 7. Tlie Majestic Theatre Company was registered on Saturday, and the company’s architects are now engaged on plans for an up-to-date building on a central site. The Nelson Jockey Club committee decided to abandon the race meeting fixed for this month, and to apply for fre.ali dates. May 3 and 5. The decision of the committee was influenced by the fact that weather conditions have made Richmond Park track very hard, and the likelihood of it not being fit for racing on the original dates. Another consideration was the fact that a greater number of the nominations were from the North Island, and the fear that owners would prefer to race at a meeting to be held about the name lime in tho North.
