YACHTING
FIRST ROUND FOR FELLOWS S HELD. The first of a series of 'aces for the Fellows Shield was held by the Worsen Bay Boating Club at the week-end, in their Takapuna boats This trophy is sailed for by boys under 19. who change boats for each race, the boy who receives most wins in the series gaining the shield. Three races were held, N. McKenzie winning two, which places him for the semi-finals. There are yet twelve boys to compete. The course was from the clubhouse to Pinnacle buoy, then to Fellows buoy off the wharf, and back to the clubhouse. Results arc as follow:— First Race. —N. McKenzie (Karkariki), I: D. McKenzie (Marti), 2; T. Hemmingwav (Spitfire), 3. , Second Race.—D. McKenzie (Karkariki), 1; T. Hemmingway (Mara), 2; N. McKenzie (Spitfire), 3. . Third Race.—N. McKenzie (Maru), 1; T. Heniu4ngway (Karkariki), 2; D. McKenzie (Spitfire), 3. A race was held by the Plimmerton Club in a fairly strong southerly with a small sea on Saturday. The course was to Plimmerton, across the Bar Bay,, and back to Karehana Bay, twice round.Mermaid was <he winner. Sea Spray’ was second, two minutes after her, and Opawa, three minutes later, third.
