CANADIAN EXHIBITION
NEW ZEALAND COURT. At the fortnightly meeting of the Wellington Afanufacturers’ Association, a hearty welcome wae extended to Mr. J. W. Collins, secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce, who recently returned from his mission to Toronto, where he represented the NewZealand Government at the Canadian National Exhibition. Mr. Collins stated that the very practical support that had been accorded to the Government by the manufacturers of New Zealand contributed very largely to the success of the New Zealand section. Canadians were most interested and amazed at the variety and excellence of the exhib-
its displayed, these being shown to advantage owing to the fact that he was not hampered for space. The exhibition had been running for forty-eight; years, the grounds being 3(H) acres iu extent, with 80 exhibition buildings thereon. The annual success of the undertaking was marvellous, as each .year saw a fresh record. The exhibition was not only for manufacturers, but for primary products as well. The attendance tor the fortnight averaged 120.000 per day, Labour Day alone accounting for 263.000. He hoped to have an opportunity nt a later date to address members of the association on the exhibition, and also of the benefits New Zealand is likely to derive therefrom.
