LICENSE CANCELLED
"COMMITTEE TREATED WITH CONTEMPT.” BY Tr.bECBAPH.— PBB3S ASSOCIATION. Palmerston. North, December 7. A case of considerable interest came before the quarterly meeting of the - Pahiatua Licensing Committee at Woodville yesterday, when William Love, licensee of the Wimbledon Hotel, presented an application for renewal of the license. The application originally came before-the annual meeting of the committee in June last, when it was adjourned, pending repairs to the building. At thi September quarterly meeting the application was again adjourned, as the police' stated that nothing had been done. At yesterday's meeting it was reported that the repairs ordered were still in-cc-iplete, • so the committee decided to cancel the license. The chairman (Mr. A. M. Mowlem, S.M.) said that he considered that the committee’s instructions had been treated' with contempt. The license consequently expires on December 31.
