MAGISTRATE’S COURT

POLICE CASES Mr. E. Page, S.M., presided in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. A young woman pleaded guilty to the theft of a gold ring, valued at £lO. Mr. B. J. Dolan, for accused, said she was married at the age of 18, but was now living apart from her husband. She had taken the ring to wear at a couple of dances, and had foolishly kept it. He applied for suppression of the name. Mr. Page convicted accused and ordered her to come up for sentence if called upon within 12 months. He also said the application was a proper cue, and ordered suppre:-sion of the name. Eric Charles William Rose,' charged with stealing the sum of £99 3s. Bd., the property of the Government, was remanded to appear on December 15, bail being renewed at £2OO in self and one surety of £2OO.
