YACHTING
WIN FOR ALL BLACK. From the yachtsman's point of view weather conditions on Saturday were practically perfect, and considerable interest was taken in the only racing event which was held by the Royal Port Nicholson Clun. This was a handicap race for yachts of eighteen feet and under. There were only three competitors—AH Black, 'Wellesley, and Geisha. Of these the first two were scratch, and Geisha, was given a handicap of six minutes. The course was from the starting line between the Clyde Quay Wharf and the King's Wharf to the ' buov at Point Jerningham, from theie to the Coromandel Buoy, and thence at the fiag-boat, near the Clyde Quay Wharf; from there, the boats went round the course again. The race began at 3.15 p.m. and the finishing times of tho three yachts were as follow: All Black, 4.49.30; Wellesley, 4.54.30, and Geisha, 50.10. Allowing for Geisha’s handicap, her corrected timrt was 4.54.10. The race was thus won bv All Black, with Geisha in the second position, and Wellesley third. A fresh northerly breeze was blowing during the race, while tjie weather was light.’
