SOCIAL NOTES

TOWN AND COUNTRY. Mrs. F. S. Goldingham and Miss Goldingham (Palmerston North) have returned after a stay in Paekakariki. Miss S. Spring (Napier) leaves for Auckland to-day. Miss- O. Haggitt (Palmerston North) has gone to Auckland, and intends motoring back next week. Mr and Mrs. D. 11. Lawton Dyer (Levin) are on a visit to Wanganui. Mrs. P. Sim (Palmerston North) has left on a visit to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Powell (Waipawa) have returned from a tour of the United States. Mrs. Fitzherbert, sen., who has been the guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Fitzherbert, Broadway Avenue, Palmerston North, has returned to her home in Auckland.

Miss C. Brown (Ashburton) is staying with her sister, Mrs. Clayton, at Dannevirke. Mr. and Mrs. J. Edlin and Miss Ivy Boulton have returned to Levin from a visit to Auckland and Cambridge. Mrs. B. Jacobs and Mrs. J. Grant, of Palmerston North, have returned from Auckland, where they met Mr. and Mrs. J. Bett and Miss Bett on the latter’s return from England.

Owing to the conditions of things in London at present - Madame and Mr Menere, the well known fur merchants cable that they have secured a very fine assortment of Marmot and Musquash Coats at a very cheap price I’hev have purchased fot cash over 500 coats in one line alone, and these will be shown in New Zealand early next vear.—Advt
