HUTT VALLEY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

LOAN PROPOSALS OF £150,000 CARRIED By a three-fifths majority of 104, the proposals of the Hutt Valley Power Board to raise a loan of £150,000 for further reticulation in the board’s area were sanctioned at a poll of the ratepayers; 555 voted in favour of the proposals, while 197 recorded their votes against them. Little interest was taken in the poll, for out of 5000 odd ratepayers on the roll only 760 voted. The executive officers of the board will prepare a scheme of works at the earliest opportunity, while it is proposed to raise the money in stmis as required. Details of the voting are:
