APPEAL TO THE NATION “STRENGTH AND HEALTH RETURNING” SOLICITUDE TO FULFIL DUTY TO COUNTRY BY TELEGRAPH.-PRESS ASSOCIATION. Copyright (Rec. December 1, 7.20 p.m.) Bucharest, November 30. Appealing to the nation to rally to the defence of the throne against those seeking to overthrow the dynastic Constitution, King Ferdinand, in a letter to the Premier, says: “Happily my strength and health are returning. I believe, with the help of God, that we shall be able to continue to fulfil our duty to our dear country and beloved people. The interests of the country alwavs kept personal feelings in the background. I have sacrificed personal bonds, as was necessary, when I terminated the errors and indiscretions of a well-beloved child. I am therefore entitled to believe that nobody can doubt mv constant solicitude completely to fulfil my duty to the country. Until my last moments I shall do so with resolution, making every effort possible to ensure 9 stable future. 1 am sure that in this I can rely upon the help of all good loyal Rumanians.” SURGEON EN ROUTE TO BUCHAREST (Rec. December 1, 8.55 p.m.) London, December 1. The Exchange Telegraph Agency’s Paris correspondent reports that Professor Hartmann has departed for Bucharest to perform an operation on King Ferdinand. QUEEN MARIE IN PARIS DESIRES CAROL TO RETURN Paris, November 30. A heavy gale at Cherbourg delayed Queen Marie’s landing till the afternoon. She instantly took a special train to Paris The Court Chamberlain intimated that King Ferdinand had improved, but that the Queen must reach Bucharest without a moment's delay. (Rec. December 1, 7.20 p.m.) Paris, November 30. Queen Marie, interviewed by journalists, said that during her stav in Paris she intended to use her influence, as mother and. queen, to persuade Prince Carol to return in his private capacity to see his ailing father. She suggested that such a visit might have a calming •effect upon public opinion in R”mania. The Queen expressed pleasure tf“it the King’s condition was improving, but declined to discuss Rumanian affairs. Prince Carol did not meet Queen Marie on her arrival. VIEWS OF .NATIONAL LEADER CONDITIONS OF PRINCE'S RETURN (Rec. December 1, 8.55 p.m.) London, December 1. The Bucharest correspondent of the "Daily Express” says that M. Nikola Jorga, leader of the National Party, declares that Prince Carol may return, and says: “I will support him if he will give up that woman in Paris, who intoxicates him like alcohol. If lie returns to his lawful wife and son, and if he declares that he lias no adventurous ideas and does not wish to become a dictator, Princess Helen will forgive him.”
