EXPLOSION ON TANKER

CAUSED BY SAILOR LIGHTING A PIPE TWO PEOPLE KILLED New York, November 30. A Swede named Handberg, a sailor on board the oil tanker Warwick, lying in Wilmington Harbour, struck a match to light his pipe. An explosion followed, blowing up the tanker. Two people were killed and six injured. The surrounding buildings were damaged. The total damage is estimated at £so,ooo,—Sydney "Sun” Cable.
