LOWER HUTT MAGISTRATE S COURT

The fortnightly’ sitting of the Lower Hutt Magistrate’s Court was held yesterday before Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M. Judgment for plaintiffs by default was, given in the following undefended civil castes: W. Austin v. E. Shramka, £1 7s. 9d., with Bs. costs; W. Austin v. G. Miirpliy, £ll 18s. 5d., with £2 14s. costs; J. McC. Cowden v. A. Gough, £3 155., with £1 3s. 6d. costs; W Austin v. S. W. Frew. £5 4s. lld. z with 15s. Gd. costs; C. R. Barrett v. P N McGrath, £1 12s. 6d.. with Bs. Costs; R. D. Barron v. H. Janies, £4 55., with £1 6s. 6d. costs. In a judgment summons case, F. J Ogier was ordered to pay the Patea District Meat Co., Ltd., £1 Is. forthwith, in default 48 hours’ imprisonment. E. Thompson, who was found on licensed premises after hours, . was fined £l, with 7s. cost.s. > For failing to send his child to school regularly, R. Whyte was. fined 10s., with Ils, costs. R. A. Anderson "was fined 10s., with 9s. costs, for allowing stock to wander. Mrs. L. Handley, for failing to observe the weekly half-holiday, was ordered to pay costs, 7s. A youth, 18 years of age, wjjose name was suppressed, was fined £3 for hav-, ing stolen £1 11s. 7d. in money, the propertv of T. E. Sheil and Sons. He was also ordered to refund the amount.
