ROLLS NOT READY BEFORE MARCH MOTION TO REDUCE SUPPLY DEFEATED Bi Telegraph.—Press association, copyright. (Rec. November 30, 10.50 p.m.) Sydney, November 30. In the Legislative Assembly, on the motion for Supply for four montlis, amounting to £1,420,335, Mr. T. R. Bavin stated that he intended to divide the House on the motion unless it could be shown that the electoral rolls could not be ready within a mouth. The Colonial Secretary (Mr. C. C. Lazzarini) intimated that it would be impossible to have the rolls ready before March. If an election were held before then it would have to be under the proportional representation system, with the 1924 rolls. A sensation was caused when Miss Preston Stanlev declared that the Minister of Health (Mr. G. Cann) had offered to put through legislation in which she was interested if she would cross the floor to vote for an additional two months’ Supply. Mr. Cann 'admitted that he had said he would put through the two Bills if Miss Stanlev would support him. The motion by Mr. Bavin to reduce Supplv to a sum sufficient for two instead of four months was defeated bv 45 votes to 42, Messrs. Loughlin, Goodin, and Gillies voting with the Government. The House then passed four months’ Supply. _________
