SACRED COLLEGE OF CARDINALS
TO BE ENLARGED FROM SEVENTY TO EIGHTY. (Rec. November 30, 8.50 p.m.) Rome, November 29. It is reported that the Pope is enlarging the Sacred College of Cardinals from seventy to eighty, in order to increase the representation of uonKuropean countries, particularly America, Australia, and Canada. The changes involve the abandonment of the traditional number seventy, also the revision of Canon Law.
