BANK HOLIDAYS
A COMPLAINT—AND BANK’S REPLY
At last night’s meeting of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce a letter was received from the associated banks regarding a complaint of business delays that bad been experienced in the case of a mail steamer arriving on a bank holiday. The banks pointed out that the holidays .were fixed by statute, and they had no alternative in the matter, but that the yhad advised the Government that they would offer no objection to the bank holidays being reduced in number.
