AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE SITE
COMPLETION OF PURCHASE About the middle of September last the Government agreed to the terms under which it would take over the Batchelor estate at Palmerston North, for the purposes of the proposed agricultural college (or institute). According to arrangement the purchase will be completed to-morrow. The site covers 880 acres, and the purchase price is understood to be £6O per acre. No announcement has yet been made as to the completion of the personnel of the college council.
