BOARD. OF GOVERNORS’ MEETING.
A meeting of the Wellington Colleges Board of Governors was held yesterday, the chairman (Mr. W. H. P. Barber) presiding. , r, c-f The acting headmaster (Mr. A. G. Gitford) of the Wellington Boys’ College, in his monthly report stated that there were 836 names on the roll, 10 boys having left since last report. The special prize examinations had been completed, and the results, together with recommendations for the award of scholarships, would be forwarded to the board early next month. Senior free places had been granted to 187 boys,, while those not recommended for passes were now sitting for the examination. Work in tion with the erection of the Memona l Hall was proceeding rapidly, tne annual cricket match with Wanganui had been fixed for December 18. p nll .„ p The headmistress of the Girls ' Coßeg (Miss V. M. Greig) reported that theio were Mt names on the roll. A good number of girls had been absent d« n the month owing to prevailing epidemics.
