ARCHITECTS' PLANS

ALLEGATION AGAINST BOROUGH OFFICER. Dominion Special. Palmerston North, November 29. Alleging that an employee of tbe council was preparing plane and was charging for such to private owners, tbe New Zealand Institute of Architects wrote to the Palmerston Borotgh Council at its meeting to-night. It was stated that architects' plans which were deposited with the council were being topied. and that the competition with the architectural profession w-as most unfair. The borough engineer (Mr. J. R. Hughes) stated that as far as he knew no such practice was going on in his department, nor were there any plans being taken out of his < Cico to his knowledge. “This seems to me a very serious charge to make,” said Councillor W.. L. Fitzherbert, who expressed the opinion that the institute should be asked for further details. A resolution was carried to this effect.
