The steamer Kaniona, which icaclied Bluff from Westport on Sunday, experienced a severe buffeting in the vicinity of Puyseour Point. One cf the ship’s boats was washed from the chocks on the top deck and smashed against a water tank. The provision sate was washed overboard and thrown back op the deck. The steering wheel was badly damaged, and the crew’s quarters became untenable. The men had to take shelter in the engine-room. It was considered too dangerous to turn the vessel and run for shelter, and she had to bo hove to until the weather moderated.
