There was great enthusiasm at the Auckland Railway Station this evening when “Miss New Zealatld,” Miss Wilson, Miss McCubbin, and Miss Marie Osten left for their homes in the south The outside of the barrier was thronged, and every available platform pass was sold in record time. The girls’ arrival was the signal for an outburst of cheering and clapping, which continued as they 'wended their waythrough the gates, and • the demonstration was continued on the platform. As the train pulled out the crowd cheered and cheered' again. The girls are all looking forward to being home, hut leave Auckland with regrets. All have been given a wonderful time, and express gratitude to the Aucklanders who were so kind to them The Aucklanders in their turn are sorry to lose a “hnppv family.” “Miss New Zealand" has endeared herself to all, while Wellington should be proud of the fine imnress’on made by Miss Doreen McCubbin and Miss Isobel Wilson. [Miss New Zealand and her party will arrive at Thorndon Station shortly after 9 o’clock this morning.]
