Mr. W. F. Battersby, of the staff of the Feilding branch of the Bank of New Zealand.' has' received notice of his transfer to the Palmerston North branch. Mr. A. MacDonald, of Mastertou, is in Palmerston North for a few days. .Mr. H. Fairley, of Auckland, is at present -in Palmerston North. •The Rev. J. D. McArthur, of Levin, exchanged pulpits yesterday with the Rev. E. S. Emmitt, M.C., of Kilbirnie Church, Wellington. Mr. E. Whitcomb, of Pahiatua, is at present in Palmerston North. Mr. E Osterman, of Palmerston North, will leave on Friday on a visit to Svdney. Mr. T. E. Beaver, of Ranrunu, clerk to the Kaitieke County Council, has been appointed clerk to the Wairarapa South Conntv Council, from 38 applicants. Mr. Beaver will take up his duties early in January. A vote of sympathy to Mr. Newland, of Masterton, was pas’sed by the committee of the Wairarapa P. and A. Society in the unfortunate accident to his son, who fractured a leg at the last show while riding in the pony section. It was mentioned that several exhibitors at the show bad'sent donations from their prize money to the unfortunate lad. » ■
