PAVING PROGRESS
VIVIAN STREET IN HAND The paving gangs have not had a very good run this mouth on account of the very broken weather. When it is considered that a good heavy shower of rain early in the morning can bold up the hot-mix paving work for half a day. the public will realise the disabilities under which this work is being earned out. Yesterday the city gang were employed in paving Vivian Street (between Cuba and Willis Streets). Hus street should be finished about the middle of next week, when the will resume work tn Upper Willis Street, which has been prepared from the Manners Street end _ Preparation work is also proceeding in Aro Street, which probably means hot-mix treatment within the course of a few weeks Clvde Quay, near Courtenay Place, is still one of the worst dust accumulators and distributors in the city, work th ere having been held up by the Kent Terrace dispute.
