Lawry, SAI., in the Magistrate's Court this morning on a charge of failing to stop at the traffic con table’s signal. Defendant, who pleaded not guilty, said, “The right of the road was in my hands.’’ The Magistrate: It was in the traffic constable’s hands. Oeiemlant: I had just come back from Australia, and had not driven a car in Christchurch for some time. I misunderstood the signal. The Magistrate; When in doubt it la better to stop. Fined 205., costs 7s.
