CHAMBER OF COMMERCE VISITORS

DAY SPENT IN SIGHTSEEING. Visiting delegates to the annual conference of Associated Chambers ot Commerce of New Zealand had a day’s recreation yesterday, after the two pre. vious days’ dry business. In the forenoon they and their wives and families were the guests of General Motors, Ltd., in a tour by car to the Petone works and round to Dav’s Bay, and in the afternoon the Harbour Board gave them an enjoyable trip in one of the ferry steamers, the Duch ess. The latter did the round of Port Nicholson, giving the visitors an opportunity of seeing the docking facilities and also the beautiful frontages and marine motor drives of Oriental Bay. Much interest was evinced in the Thorndon sea-wall, arid the reclamation work now going on there.
