THE ROYAL VISIT
CITIZENS’ COMMITTEE TO BE FORMED
The Mayor (Mr. C. j. B. Norwood) announced yesterday that be would call a meeting early next week in order to form a citizens’ committee to handle arrangements for the visit of the Duke and Duchess of York to Wellington earlv in March next.
"Their time with us will be so short and so fully occupied,” said His Worship, “that' I’m afraid there is not a great deal we can do. Many delightful engagements have been put forward for the visitors, but I’m afraid that in this connection there must be considerable disappointment.” Mr. Norwood said he was satisfied that the people of Wellington desired to be second to no other city in evidence of loyalty. As the Renown will be in port for some days, it will be necessary to provide suitable entertainment for the officers and men of the ship also.
