OROUA RABBIT BOARD
CO-OPERATION OF PROPERTY OWNERS.
Fellding, November 24. The first meeting of the newly-elected Oroua Rabbit Board was held last night, Mr. B. N. Sandilands again being voted to the chair. , , , , Reference was made to the death of Mr A. P. Francis, late chairman of the Kiwitea Rabbit, Board, and also of the North Island Rabbit Board Association, an-! a motion of sympathy with the relatives of deceased was passed. A letter was received from the north Island Rabbit Board Association, submitting the proposed title and constitution, of which the board approved. A proposal from the association that all inspectors attend a conference to be held shortly was also agreed to, and the chairman was also appointed to attend. The treasurers’ statement showed that while rates levied for 1926 totalled £><B6 95., there had been collected to date £303 14s. 6d., leaving £264 14s. 2d. outstanding. The credit balance at the bank amounted to £25 13s. 3d. _ It was resolved to notify the imposition of a It) per cent, penalty on all rates outstanding after a date to be advertised. _ The board's inspectors submitted favourable reports’ in connection with the extermination of the rabbit pest throughout the board’s district, and stated also that all property owners were working in helpful co-operation with the board.
