Miss Dulcie Fitzherbcrt, of Hokowhitu (Palmerston North) is staying

with Mrs. F. Cameron at Feuding. Mrs. H. D. Robinson, of Napier, is visiting the Pahiatua district, where she was resident over fifty years ago. She is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. F. Moore, of Tararua Street. Mr. and Mrs. A. 0. Bunny, of Carterton, are at present on a visit to Wanganui. Mr. W. Goring Johnston, of Hawkes Bay, is visiting his parents, ■ Mr. and Mrs. Goring Johnston, of Palmerston North. , Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Bennett, of Palmerston North, and Misses Maisie and Marjorie Bennett, who have been on a visit, to England, are expected to return next week. Success in large measur attended the first public concert by the Palmerston North Girls’ Music Club, which was held on Tuesday night. The company proved to be one of surprising resource, and some impressive musical talent was r v-alcd. Those who contributed to a delightful programme were:—Misses L. Loughnan, G. Seifert, E. Gunter, M. Muirhead, E. Eyre, M. Buchanan, E. V'ilson, M. Bendall (piano), F. Howley, 1 Hankin (violin), G. McKenzie, B. Hartgiil (’cello), N. McHardy, R. Mann, N. Blockley, M. Taylor, Q. Rogerson, I. Stiles, B. Mcßae, and M. Smith (vocal). The accompanists were Mrs. W. H. K. Gilmour, Misses D. Stevens, Buchanan, and Muirhead. Owing to the conditions of things in London at present Madame and Mr Menere, the well-known fur merchants cable that they have secured a very fine assortment of Marmot and Musquash Coats at a very cheap price. They have purchased for cash over 500 coat's in one line alone, and these will be shown in New Zealand early next year.—Advt.
