STRANDING OF R10 CLARO
CAPTAIN CENSURED. (Rec. November 23, 10.55 p.m.) Sydney, November 23. The .Marine Court which inquired into the stranding of the Rio Claro on the Queensland coast early in September, found the charge against the master, Rowland James Park, that he carelesslv navigated the vessel, to be sustained, but his failure to take the utmost precautions could not be regarded as a gross failure of • duty. < The couat. therefore, did not deal with his certificate of competency, but censured him. The costs of repairs to the vessel is £lB,OOO.
