DUBLIN RAIDS
INVESTIGATIONS REVEAL REPUBLICAN ARMY
WITH MOST EXTENSIVE RAMIFICATIONS (Rec. November 23, 7.20 p.m.)
London, November 23.
The “Daily News” Dublin correspondent says investigations in connection with the armed raids revealed the underground existence of a most highlyorganised self-governing Republican Army, not owing allegiance to any party, with most extensive ramifications. The average citizen does not know whether his neighbour is a member of this organisation. Recently a well-dressed Dublin girl was convicted of conspiring to maintain this army. The same day two men and a daughter of Count Plunkett were convicted of conspiring to attack money-lenders under the army’s orders. Those arrested include the chairman of the Cork County branch of the Gaelic Athletic Association, also a champion hurdler.—Svdney “Sun” Cable.
