NEW ASSOCIATION CRITICISED. Dominion Special. Christchurch, November 23. Evidence against tlie newly-formed Proprietary Articles Trade Association was offered by a Christchurch trader to-day. lie referred to llie cxjicritnce of business communities in Canada, where the working of a similar association had been recently jirohibited. “We are hojiing that the Government will lake immediate . steps to inquire into the aims and working of this organisation which has been formed in the Dominion,” he said. “Jts activities are to commence in tlie New Year, and its aim is to gain control of hundreds of lines. Tlie price ol each will be fixed, and any retail trader who endeavours to give the public the benefit of his up-to-date business methods by reducing prices will be refused supplies of evert- line controlled by the association.’’
