RIFLE SHOOTING
WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION.
The annual meeting of tlie Wellington Rifle Association was held recently before a fair attendance of members.
The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Hon. F. J. Rolleston. Minister of Defence; vicepatroti, Col. W. L. 11. Burge s. Chief of General Staff: president. His Worship the Mayor. Mr. C. J. B. Norwood, vicepresidents, Hon. R. A Wright Sir John Luke, Messrs. R. Forsyth, M.P., R.. McKeen. M.P., lan Duncan, L. P Blundell, Lieut.-Col. A. Brandon, Lieut.-Col. W. G.. Dul hie, Lieut.-Col. Beere. J. G. Newton, C. R. Graham, W. H. Field. M.P., W. Simm, Col. G. Mitchell. and Major J. Roache; chairman of executive. President W J. H. Haase (’Varsity); deputy-chairman. President J. Scott (Petone); executive committee, Messrs. It. Caughley, Il V. Croxton (Karori), fl. R Hunt. J. Smart (Suburbs), P. Goldfinch, F. Standidgc (Old Navals), W. 11. Ballinger (Petone), H. V. Scott (’Varsity); hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. G. 11. Voyee; assistant secretary. Mr. W. G. Fellingham; auditor, Mr. It. E. Flaws. A very attractive programme was drawn up for the next annual rille meeting to be held at Trantham on January 1. An optional aggregate lias been included in the programme score- in matches over 3<X>. 696 and 900 yards to count. This is a popular innovation and is expeeled to appeal to Ihe competitors. Too decision of the executive to confine this year’s meeting to one day is said to have met with universal approval. Lieut. P. Barcliam will be chief range officer.
