“BEAU GESTE”
TRIBUTE BY LORE BEAVERBROOK.
The London “Daily Express’’ publishes a fine tribute to “Beau Gesfe” by Lord Beaverbrook, owner of the paper. Lord Beaverbrook says: “When an American film, with a powerfid anti-moving balance in favour of Great Britain reaches this country, we here ought to make due and public acknowledgment of fact. I refer to the film “Beau Gesfe,’’ which presents a most favourable view of British character in the form of an excellent entertainment. We owe this production to Mr. Zukor. of New York, who is famous for his friendship to British institutions.” The above cablegram was received from Sydney yesterday morning by Jno. AV. Hicks, junr., managing director, Famous Lasky Film Service, who left last night for Sydney by the Tahiti. Mr. Kennebeck, manager of Paramount exploitation for /Australia. arrived in Wellington bv the Manama yesterday, accompanied by his wife. He will make a three-weeks’ tour of the Dominion, and will be in Wellington for the New Zealand premiere of “Beau Ge'te, ’ Paramount’s great feature of the year, at the new Regent Theatre early m December. . Mr. Kennebeck stated that the ten Indians, who were in Sydney with the film, "The Vanishing Race,” would como on to New Zealand with the picture. One Indian chief is 82 years of age, and one of the children of the party acted in the picture. The Indians have with them their full native costumes and regalia.
