TWO RESIDENCES LOST.

Cambridge, November 23. An old two-storied house at Pukekura, owned and occupied by Mr. Ken Browne, was totally destroyed by fire on Sunday morning. On the previous night the outbuilding was destroyed. It is surmised that a spark from this ignited the residence. The insurances on the homestead arc £5OO, on the outbuilding £75, and on the furniture £2OO, all in the State office. Yesterdav afternoon Mr. A. R. Marx’s dwelling at Roto-o-Rangi was totally destroyed bv a fire, which is thought to have been due to a defective chimney. The insurances on the building are £2OO, and on the furniture £250, in the National Office.
